Who Should Carry Naloxone?

  • Everyone- It’s a tool that we hope you never need to use, but you have it just in case. 
  • People at increased risk of opioid overdose, including those with opioid use disorder (OUD).
  • Anyone prescribed high-dose opioids or mixing opioids with benzodiazepines.
  • People using heroin, fentanyl, or other illicit opioids.

Legal Protection
Most states have Good Samaritan laws that protect individuals who assist during an overdose emergency.
